The City Hotel was located in the middle of the 600 block of Lawrence Avenue on the North side of the street. The twenty eight room hotel was just two doors west of the popular nickelodeon; the Opera House.

After looking at the building on a map of 1909, this hotel quickly became one of my favorite buildings as it had an indoor shooting gallery attached to the back of the building. At that time the hotel was managed by D.J. Mulcahy and was run by W.D. Walton in later years.
Today, the New Brighton Hot Dog Shop is located at the former site of the City Hotel.
